What is currently on your grocery list for your next trip to the store (or, what was on your most recent list)?

I’ll start.

From today’s shopping trip:

  • chickpeas
  • diced canned tomatoes
  • raisins
  • slivered almonds
  • spray butter
  • couscous
  • cereal (they didn’t have the one I wanted, though…)
  • hummus
  • orange juice (pulpless, of course)
  • soy ice cream
  • soap
  • cold brew iced tea (didn’t get it)
  • milk
  • soy milk
  • crackers

10. ice cube holder (the big thing, not the trays)
11. chick peas
12. sesame tahini

Just went shopping for the first time in ages, since the demise of Webvan. Ack. I buy a lot of very healthy food, but since you guys are mostly posting the good stuff, I'll post my junk:

Hmm. That has to last me a month? I'd better go back...

Pat -- Last night's shopping trip was mainly for ingredients for a specific dish. I don't eat carb-heavy, necessarily, but I also totally disagree with the Atkins school of thought of low-carb, high-protein.

My list also didn't have any vegetables or fruits, which we always have a lot of on hand -- it's just that during the summer we get those from the farmer's market rather than the supermarket, so it'll be a separate trip.

What type of sesame tahini do you buy? I've never tried store bought...

Cat -- I assume you eat these all at the same meal, right? Mike and Ikes in your Lucky Charms, filled with Mountain Dew and Diet Coke in place of milk? Mmmm...

Ryan - I don't know what kind of tahini it is. Ukrops only carried one kind and there are no specialty stores in my area that I know of. Also, I have not ventured to make my own -- yet.

I don't follow any specific diet and am in the same camp as you -- Atkins is a bit off the mark. My comment about eating the carbs/fiber was directed at the fiber intake, which seems to make everything come out better in the end.

Actually, I like to mix the junkfood with the healthy stuff. Ever jammed a lime Mike & Ike into a fresh strawberry? Mmmm.

"Come out better in the end..." LOL...

Yeah, I have no problems with my fiber. Factor in the flax seed I sprinkle on food and everything's good to go. Ahem.

As far as diets, any fad diet's going to be off the mark (except my diet plan, of course!)... every person has to figure out what's right for them. What makes you feel good won't make everyone else feel good.

Oh, never tell me I've grossed you out. That's like a dare. I used to work with this chick that was totally disgusted by my peanut butter and miracle whip sandwiches. I ate a LOT more of them around her.

Now I think I'll try every flavor.

falafel mix
broccoli
rice milk
edamame
sea salt
vegetarian protein powder
popcorn
curry
hot cereal (wheat-free of course)
raspberry lemonade
mochi
tofutti
salad in a bag (not to be confused with salad in THE bag)
sunflower seeds
almond butter
red bliss chips

oh, yum. there's nothing like going to the store and having new groceries.
