Attza Pizza!

I like pizza. I have liked pizza almost all of my life. While it’s not an American food, it’s one of those foods that Americans have co-opted enough to be called American (even though it really isn’t.)

So, the greater question is, what do you like on your pizza? I think my favorite pizza is one that’s homemade – a homemade crust, with pizza sauce, lots of good cheese (soy cheese is fine!), fake pepperoni and fake meat. Mmmmm. But for ordering out, I’m pretty much like any Chicagoan: I like a good Chicago style pizza. Deep dish, thick… the type of pizza that actually forces one to use a knife and fork, which is otherwise a no-no in my book. -pm

I usually have meat on my pizza. Pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, chicken, you name it. I just don't like any of the vegetables they tend to put on pizza. I also like a good white pizza.

Pizza is yummy.

pizza is one of the greatest foods ever you cant hate something that is so versatile thin crust as well as deep are both great choices the more meat the better

I'm a big fan of pineapple and pizza too, from Giovanni's in Leesburg.

I have great memories of roadtripping to Chicago from Purdue to stand in line for a table at Gino's East...

Pineapple on pizza is an abomination. Otherwise...thin crust, deep dish, whatever, i'll take it.

I did see pizza at a Chinese buffet last week though...I think I would have to pass on that.

I love a good cookie pizza. It's a real shame I haven't had one since 1986 or so.

You know what I think about pizza. Heres a hint, take a look at my name. Pizza is awful. I'd take a can of sardines any day over that cheese and sause covered bread garbage. Give me sardines!!!!!!!!

I have to agree Paul, there's nothing in this world like a good ol' Stuffed or Deep Pan pizza. My preference is pepperoni and Cheese, or if the sausage is good, then sausage as the backup or alternative if I'm in a non-pepperoni mood. Sometimes a good mix of the 2 is good too. Ground beef can also work sometimes... although it's no substitute for the former.

I'm not into the whole "Hawaiian Pizza" (pineapple) rage... just not my cup. I also can't stand green peppers and onions on a pizza. If I add anything... maybe mushrooms, although I usually tend to avoid them too if I can.

My favorite Pizza Places are (top-10 so far):

01) Gepetto's in Oak Park, IL
02) Salerno's/Capuccino's on 12th St. (a/k/a Roosevelt Rd.) (Berwyn, IL)
03) Salerno's on Windsor (Berwyn, IL)
04) Connie's Pizza (any of the many locations)
05) The Flying Pizza (Columbus, OH; NY-Style)
06)Paisan's #2 (Brookfield, IL)
07)Giordano's (any of the many locations)
08) Home Run Inn (any of the many locations)
09) Gino's East
10) Edwardo's
