Truly Awful Game Shows

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the two newest game shows, The Chamber and The Chair (with host John McEnroe!!) are going to have a short shelf life. Though I haven’t seen McEnroe’s show, I did see the first contestant on The Chamber and I can say that I never to see the show again. Seriously, the premise is that awful and absolutely no lasting interest. It is garbage worse than even Weakest Link. Strapping a person into a rotating chair and exposing him to excessive heat, wind, and motion may be difficult for the contestant but I have yet to see the TV where it’s compelling for the viewer.

Good God… how we need Jim Perry and Wink Martindale to make a comeback to save us from this mindless crap.

I was flipping through tonight and saw about 30 seconds of the Chair. That was 30 of the worst seconds of my life, which is odd since it included John McEnroe

Some celebrity versions of The Weakest Link are quite entertaining, because they try hard to make Ann crack up. The Brady Bunch and Star Trek ones were quite good -- esp. the latter, where they game part of it seriously and won a lot of money for charity, showing how smart they are in the process.

If your girl steps up, I'm smacking the hoe" man what a great line but can anyone name the song? also both these shows look pretty poopie

Fresh -- If anyone here couldn't name the line to that, I'd be surprised!

Okay, I'm definetly in the minority here. Of the two shows, I liked The Chair better (McEnroe was actually pretty good for his first time hosting, withflubs here and there, but I attribute that to 'first episode' syndrome. He'll improve as he settles into it).

The Chamber was just absolutely shoddy for the first episode, but keep in mind that the show was shot merely three days before it aired. Hardly enough time to get a good editing job done. Although I must say that this week's episode of The Chamber was suprisingly better. A better layout and fewer errors with the on-screen graphics. The host was a lot more involved in the proceedings, and they talked a bit about varying the stressors in the chamber. Still needs a lot of work (read: the need to repeat the rules every five minutes, for instance), but I believe it's getting better...

However, if you want truly bad, check out the theatre section of and look for a pilot called "Malcolm"... About the only thing worse than Alex Trebek trying to act enthusiastic would be him having to do it while carrying on a conversation with an animated character ;)

Dude I don't remenber what it was called but it had that Reuben guy and it was on ABC and it was the stupidest piece of $H!T i ever saw. The audience did the wave and there was like a 15 minute segment comparing Barney the dinosaur to a condom.

Yeah, that was the failed version of "You Dont KNow Jack", and it was bad. Although when you get Pee Wee Herman hosting your show, I'd start dialing around...

And for the record: Chair sucked, the Chamber was great! Seeing just how much abuse people would take for money? loved it.

What is this then?
