Get ‘Em Blogging

Just curious: out of those of you with weblogs, have you been able to convert non-blogging folks to blogdom? I can confidently say that I have converted no one, to the best of my knowledge; everyone I knew who didn’t have a blog still doesn’t.

I tried.

Nope. Although, to be honest, I don't really tell anyone (aside from posting the URL in my header there). For me, the blog is something that just allows me to rant, rave, and get things off my chest, and be ready to face the next day without bottling everything inside.

To answer the original questions, the few people i have mentioned it to have shown no interest in doing one of their own. I guess it's one of those things you have to want to do on your own.

I've never tried to convery anybody. I do it primarily for my own amusement. In fact, severl of our friends are checking in regularly and it makes me a little nervous. I'm not sure I like real life intruding on my blog.

There was something on NPR tonight about a guy who had accidentally stumbled onto the web diary or blog (?) of a woman he knows, and he discovered all kinds of information that now makes him feel uncomfortable. I guess people should realize that they call it the World Wide Web for a reason! (The ethics expert insisted that it was the woman's fault, and the man should not feel weird reading it.)

I've considered a blog myself, but then it would be one more thing preventing me from doing some much-needed yard work. Plus, who would read it? he he

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
