Orbitz

Before there was Orbitz, the travel service, there was Orbitz, the drink with balls floating in it.

And really, what more can one ask for in a drink?

Orbitz is something I never tried, but I somewhat fear floating particles in my soft drinks. I guess it’s a “new age drink”, but I don’t think solids and liquids should attempt to combine like this. Come on, man. The last thing I want when I want a cold beverage is to have a cold, chewy beverage!

Did any brave souls here ever try Orbitz, and perhaps like it? I’m curious about it, much like Hot Dr. Pepper.

I have 5 bottles all different flavors. Looking to see if anyone is wanting them. They are from years ago and not drinkable now. E-mail me if you are interested.

I love this stuff so much I’ve created a petition to sign for anyone that would like to show Clearly Canadian just how much the world loves Orbitz … please visit http://www.petitiononline.com/orbitz06/petition.html to sign the petition … please get as many people as you can to do the same … Thanks.

I’m looking for Orbitz for a disco party – think they’d be a cool centerpiece. Plus I’d just love them as I *loved* Orbitz back in the day. OR if anyone knows how to *make* orbitz that would be great too.

I’ve thought about this drink on and off over the years. It just popped into my head now and thought i would google it. WoW! I can’t believe all the people who really did like this drink. I loved it! Alot of my friends thought i was a little strange for liking it as they couldn’t stand it. Never stopped me from drinking it though. I can remember my first one like it was yesterday and i was hooked! lol I looked in every store trying to find it and when i did i usually bought 2 at a time. I would down the first one then take my time with the second bottle.I like most who dared to try it, tried it cause it was something new and different. Man that stuff was good!
I need to go now and sign that petition. I WANT SOME ORBITZ! Bye!

Ok i signed it. Your turn next!

I honestly thought I was the only person in the world who liked this drink until I read the above comments. I liked the red one (I can’t even remember what the flavor was). I signed the petition, but considering that it has 14 signatures I really don’t think the drink will ever come back. Ah well, at least I tried. . .

i remember drinking orbitz all the time when i was younger my little sister and i loved it. im a little upset that they dont make it anymore.

I’m so happy to see that I’m not the only one who liked this beverage. I used to make treks to the local drugstore after school and buy one every couple days, I was addicted to the Raspberry Citrus flavor. I really miss Orbitz! I still remember the day I visited the travel site, and thought “where’s my favourite drink???” Sigh, the memories… Really I don’t know what people complained about with the flavor, to me it tasted like those Capri Sun juice boxes from childhood with some jello thrown in. I thought it was pretty tasty! If Clearly Canadian or any other company decided to market them again, they’d definitely have me as a happy consumer!

i remember having a little sip when i was like 2 and although i dont remember that much i know that it was delicious. i signed the petition and it has 58 signatures! keep it up guys

I loved this drink when i was younger! i find it revolting now, and it’s not hard to find people who want to sell their bottles, search online, i found a guy willing to trade dvd’s for a tweleve pack just tonight. yay orbitz, i’m trying to write a research paper on the stuff and i can’t find sources!!! help a kid out đŸ˜‰

Katie February 19, 2008, 7:04 pm

What a nice mom I had for buying me this crap when I was a teenager. I was the only person in school who had it and I think I only went through one case/pack back when it was on the grocery shelves.

Obvious that the appeal of it was what drew me to it. I dont remember it being horrible as I have read about. Back then it was not bad. Now! I would not drink it, I don’t think.

I also remember seeing Obritz drink on the TV Series “Cluless”….and that is what triggered my search for this in early 2008. I can’t believe people are still talking about it, but what a product!!!

I dont think you missed much mister! but thanks for the oppertunity to reply to your post!

Ahhh… a trip down memory lane! I’ve been on this quest to find someone who remembers Orbitz (I remember it as “Orbit”), but NO one in my shithole town knows what I’m talking about when I bring it up. I used to buy it from Woodall’s when I was younger. I can’t believe it was actually sold here, being the “rare” commodity that it allegedly was, when the largest building in town at that time was a K-Mart. I remember seeing it for the first time… and thinking that it was the coolest thing ever. I got a bottle every time I went to Woodall’s, even though it didn’t taste too great. I don’t really remember what it tasted like, but that’s beside the point. One day I realized that all of the Orbit just mysteriously disappeared, and I’ve never seen or heard about them since. But that drink will always hold a special place in my memory.

ILOVEORBITZ April 5, 2008, 6:26 am

ORBITZ was one of my favorite drinks as a young boy. I loved it so much that, thats one of the main things that I remember about that age (6). After school my mother would take my sister and I to 7-11 almost every day and I would walk out of that store double- fisted and proud, though I don’t remember what flavors in particular I would get, all I knew is that I loved each and every flavor. what made me think about this exotic drink again? the pure love for the Gelatin balled drink. IF YOU ARE SOMEONE who misses this drink and want to regain the magical memory there is HOPE. Yes ORBITZ is discontinued but the other day I was at my friends house and his father bought this drink from the grocery store and it looked like an ordinary clear fitness water, when I took a sip I was confused something was different and i noticed that it contained clear gelatin balls much small and clear gelatin balls. It tasted awesome and was not thick at all. It gave me the same feeling as when i drank orbitz… it was wonderful. the only down side is that i forgot to remember the name of it!!! oooops BUT ALL YOU ORBITZ LOVERS NOW KNOW THAT THERE IS SOMETHING LIKE IT OUT THERE.. CLOSE TO YOU.. GOOD LUCK

I remember trying Orbitz one time, probably around ’96 or ’97 in Hawaii, which is the only place in America I ever saw them sold, and the experience was rather awful. I wanted to like it…I really did. They were so aesthetically pleasing. I think I tried two bottles of it (two seperate times), but something in it made my tounge swell to dangerous proportions so I had to quit it. I don’t even remember what the flavors tasted like (though I’ve heard via the internet they were all shit). probably couldn’t taste anything because my taste buds were all
f*&%ked up. I miss them only because they’re nostalgic. Did anyone else have a reaction like this to the drink??

I found a bunch of Orange and Yellow at a store in Urbana, Illinois. Bought two of each. One of the yellows I gave to a friend, and drank one of the orange as I drove to chicago. I should actually say, tried to drink, because, even though I was dying of thirst, it was absolutely undrinkable. It was basically thick sugar water, with no thirst quenching properties whatsoever. I really tried to like it, think I made it 1/4 through the bottle. I gave the remainder to my brother, who is notorious for eating/drinking anything, esp. if it doesn’t cost him anything. Even he couldn’t stomache it.
Struck me that the demographic for it was little kids, the same ones they target with those horrible cereals like cinnamon toast crunch.
I still have the other two bottles on my shelf. Guess now I have to complete my collection and hunt down the other colours, too.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff! I haven’t had it in FOREVER because it’s impossible to find. If anyone can get any, let me know! I will pay for the drinks, the shipping and compensate GREATLY on top of that! (It saves me from having to drive to Canada on the chance they might still sell it there…)
