Justice

In the “It’s Disgusting, but It’s Probably a Good Thing That Someone’s Doing It” file goes Perverted Justice (not work-safe), a site that highlights and humiliates pedophiles stalking young prey. Creepy men are sought out (or lured) and their stomach-churning IM chat logs are posted on the site along side their picture and personal information. It’s vigilante justice, that’s for sure, but you know… after reading some of these chatlogs, I begin to feel that their tactics are justified. The bait focus on regional chatrooms, “where they will meet people who are often-times within half an hour of where they live.”

Interestingly, when this site appeared on Metafilter, one person got fired for viewing the site at work and they were accused of being a pedophile. Yikes.

Read through the FAQ and mission statement. And if you’re feeling up to it, check out the archives. This stuff’s bothersome, but take some solace in the fact that these people are being exposed.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
