Lots of Credit, Lots of Ramen

One thing that might surprise you: take a look at all of your credit cards (or card,) and note the credit line. Even if you don’t carry much of a balance, the limit may surprise you. Collectively, for instance, my wife and I have the ability to charge an entire Kia.

But let’s be honest: you’re not going to go out and charge a Kia, right? What about something a little more practical… like Ramen Noodles?

I went ahead and did some math. Based on our available credit ($20k,) and the going price of Ramen ($0.33,) I figured that one could get just over 60,000 Ramen meals. Assuming three meals a day – yes, breakfast equals Ramenfast – one could charge enough Ramen Noodles to last over 55 years.

That’s pretty good, but where am I supposed to buy Ramen in a quantity that large? Maybe Costco?

Please, please, for the love of God! Don't charge a Kia! You could get yourself a nicely equipped Golf or Jetta and feel much safer as you cruise down the highway.

Do you really like Ramen Noodles that much? I never ate them, even in college. I was more of a Spaghettios woman.

Don't worry! We won't be buying (or charging) a Kia anytime soon. The same goes for Ramen which, I think, makes for the best 10 cent meal you can buy.

Ten cents? Wow, no one told me about that! I had both a highly illegal microwave AND toaster in my dorm room, and the scent of Pop Tarts would waft down the hall.....mmm.

Paul, you might have to wait at the docks somewhere with a rented 18 wheeler! I wonder how many years worth of sodium that many Ramen packs would have. Uck!

I think that's a whole other Ping, Monica. "How many Ramen meals must one eat before dying from sodium poisoning?" Fun!

I think there is a years worth of sodium in one ramen noodle package! They did get me thru a few tough weekends in college though. The frat house didn't serve weekend meals, and I would find mysef with 8 dollars for the whole weekend. So I would do the obvious thing - case of beer and 12 pack of ramen noodles :) Yum.

jk -- "Highly Illegal Microwave"? That deserves a bit more of an explanation. ;)

I always liked ramen, but not with the seasoning that came with it, that was WAY too much sodium. Instead, when we couldn't do Spaghettios, we made "Poor man spaghetti", which is Ramen noodles plain or with "sauce"....ketchup.

Sounds nasty, but it got us through. Wasn't THAT bad, but certainly not Spaghettios.

What is this then?
