Fallon or Fey?

In case you’ve watched Saturday Night Live in the past few years you might agree with my assessment that Weekend Update is the best part of the show. The chemistry of Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon was superb.

But now that Jimmy has left the show to move on to making poorly-received movies that will play well with 13-year-olds and 42-year-old moms and dads who think, “Gosh, I could be hip if I saw the latest flick from the SNL laugh factory, ‘Jimmy Romano: Gigolo Undercover Brother Sheep!’“, the question is: who is better? Fay or Fallon?

My money goes with Tina Fey. Her advantage of being the head writer of the show is unsurpassed by Fallon’s physical comedy. While Fallon has slightly better timing, Fey has wit. Together, they are strong. But individually, Fey beats Fallon.

Agreed. I think Fey is a signficantly better actor than Fallon -- Jimmy could never seem to keep from laughing (which was funny at times, but got to be annoying after the 18th time). Plus, she's in so few skits, that you really take notice when she does show up.

As a pair, though, they were great on Weekend Update. Should be interesting to see who they go with next season.

Fey kills Fallon in a "Celebrity Deathmatch". I can't stand any actor who consistently can't keep a straight face when he's supposed to be the straight man.

Personally, Fallon got off on the wrong foot by looking like an Adam Sandler imitator by doing the guitar bits on "Weekend Update" least, to me. I just found him annoying.

Anyways, he's off to do other things...just like Chris Kattan. Anyone heard from him since "Corky Romano"?

He DOES have better physical comedy and much better timing, and he's great at ad-libbing too. Tina not so much. She's absolutely amazing, but I personally think Jimmy has the upper-hand.
