Sunday Software Storytime

This article has been going around the Mac community but it’s definitely worth reading if you’re interested in software: The True Story of Audion, which is a music player for the Mac (pre-iTunes.) The story includes everything a good tale does: drama, comedy, love, lust, violence, and lots more violence. Okay, okay, there’s no violence. Or lust. But there’s a good tale that is definitely worth reading on a Sunday. So go for it.

A very good story from one of the "True" good guy tandems of shareware. Cabel is a truly amazing guy, having interacted with him in the past via email. Their tremendous talent, wit and wisdom, sprinkled with their usual outstanding sense of humor is what makes them 2 of the best people developing for Mac.

Here's to hoping at somepoint maybe they'll open source Audion so that it will *always* remain a part of the Mac roadmap. After all, retirement from active shareware duty doesn't mean a GNU public license on Audion couldn't breathe continued perpetual life to the program. It might even fuel ports to other platforms as well.
