Jeopardy! Tournaments

Am I the only one who really thinks the “Back to School” and Teen Tournaments on Jeopardy! are a complete waste of time?

I guess I can understand it if you’re a parent of a kid on the show, sure. But why subject all of us to these things? Then again, maybe it’s giving everyone a chance to feel smart with hard answers like, “He is buried in Grant’s Tomb.” Come on.

I would prefer to watch Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings battle it out every week.

Was Brad the dude with the persistent-annoying smirk that was on recently for 3 weeks?

No no no!!! Google him. He won the Ultimate Tournament of Champions. He does sway from side to side and wince when he pushes the clicker, but darn is that guy SMART! He beat out many other contestants for the chance to duke it out with Ken Jennings. You know who that is. They played in a three-day final against another guy named jerome vered and Rutter swept every game, walking away with $2 million!!!

Love him. Yes I do.

When I was a lot younger and (in theory) dumber I liked them. Heck, you can easily get most of the answers on the teen shows. They aren't likely to ask questions about 13th century Serbian art.

But yes, a waste of time.

And why does he still do the "talk to the contestants so we think of them as humans" bit on the teen shows? Just how many teens are eloquent and have interesting life events to talk about?

Just delete them after TiVo autorecords them, that's my philosophy.

And, hey, it's better than the Jeopardies that are actually the fourth quarter of a football game that ran over. Those suck something fierce.

What is this then?
