The Mysterious Third Clementine

So for the past two days, I’ve brought three clementines with me for lunch. (Well, not for lunch but as a part of my lunch.)

The first clementine on both days has been acceptable. A slight citrus flavor, not terribly juicy. The second clementine on both days has also been acceptable with not much flavor nor juice. But the third? The third one has been the most flavorful clementine ever (that day) – juicy, sweet, delicious. The way nature intended, and all that.

A strange coincidence. Third clementine is best. What would happen if, say, I decided to eat the third clementine second? Is it a placebo? Or is every third clementine in my bag from Trader Joe’s a “good” one? Stay tuned friends, stay tuned.

Maybe it takes two clementines to prime your tastebuds to fully appreciate the flavorfulness of the third one?

I have never tried a clementine. Don't throw things at me, unless it's clementine #3.

A coworker brought in a box of clementines. She put one on my desk and told me to eat it because they are good. Never having one before, I thought it was going to be just like an orange.

These things are great snacks. Nowhere near as sticky as an orange and it's really easy to peel.

The first one was good. Then I thought of this Ping. So I went for another. The second was a pretty darn good clementine. You know I had to grab a third. Oddly enough, the third seems to have even more flavor than the second! Paul, I think you're on to something here.

Six years later and this theory still holds. Three clementines as a snack and the third one is the best.

What is this then?
