All Commercials Should Be Online

In this day and age of every schlub posting his videos on YouTube or Google Videos, there have been a few times in the month where I haven’t found something I’ve been looking for: regular ol’ TV commercials.

Sure, there are a lot online. Particularly the funny ones or ones from the past that evoke memories, but as far as I’m concerned, every commercial that hits TV should be available online, preferably at the advertiser’s site in a standard location. Of course, I’m just looking to sample these commercials for my own purposes later on, but still… cater to me, Corporate America!

I still haven’t been able to find that Isaac Hayes Lay’s commercial…

Better yet, pay people a few cents to watch them.

Really.

Tie it in with some larger marketing plan, letting go of the idea of commercials on TV (thanks, TiVo!) and there you go.

Adverlicio.us is a site I just found today, and they seem to be aiming for this goal. What was that site that always had the ad you were looking for, plus info on the music? I can never remember the name. I miss that site.

I went to Vegas last month and I had totally had forgotten what commercials were (TiVo rocks!!). . . I did manage to see a couple of car commercial that really got me laughing hard. The first one was the one with the Fairy is going around and changing the city to cartoons then there is this car or is it an SUV (who cares a car is a car, they all have four wheels). Anyway the fairy is throwing fairy dust at it and it bounces off then after the 3rd try the fairy dust bounces right into the fairy and she is slammed against a brick wall. To her right there is this big burley guy with couple of mean looking dogs and he looks at the fairy and say “silly fairy” at that point she is pissed off so she lets him have it with the fairy dust and turns him into a fairy, white shorts and pink polo shirt and the kicker is two white puddles in pick leashes. . . LMAO!!!

The second one had me rolling!!! Where ever you see all the cars have dogs in the back seat with the windows down and of course all dogs have their heads out the window enjoying the breeze. Then towards the end they show this guy driving enjoying the music taking to the dog in the back seat. When you look at that you automatically think that the dog is sitting, then they show you the side view of the car and you see a car next to it and you see the dogs with the heads out the window then they show you the dudes car again and see that the dog has his butt out the window, at this point the dude looks at the dog and say “you are one sick puppy”

You're right, but what if the advertisers have different ads for different parts of the country/world? Would you really want Texans to see the ads being displayed to Californians? It might offend them! They might conflict! So I can see why they would not do that.

The ad with the dog sticking his butt out the window is hilarious. I wish there was a web site that archived all these commercials and made them avaliable for downloading.

What is this then?
