Dream Death

“They” always say that if you die in your dreams, you die in real life. However, that’s surely an old wives’ tale because last night I died suddenly of some odd affliction. Thankfully, I’m here to report on it.

Death ain’t fun, though. According to my dream, when you die, you continue to live in a world just like the one you left with one major exception: no one else is there. I was in my house in my town, but I was the only one there. No one else was around except for an old woman (an angel, perhaps?) who was there to help guide my transition. I had a really desperate feeling of loneliness. And I wondered for a moment if Huyen would know who to give my music collection to.

I’m kind of glad to be awake now.

Two nights ago I dreamt that my friend Jane died. I have no idea what she died of, but I was at the funeral with her family just bawling. I woke up very upset. As far as I know, she is still alive. I don’t want to freak her out with this dream!

Wouldn’t Huyen keep your music?

I’ve died a million times in my’s always the dream where I’m falling. I could trip outside on my front walk, and all of the sudden, I’m falling into a bottomless pit.

What makes this even more weird, is that when I was 13, I nearly died falling off a mountain trail on a Boy Scout hiking trip in the Appalachian Mountains. That will scare the crap outta you for a long time. It’s a long story that I’ve really tried to blot out from my mind, but needless to say, dream almost became reality.

This ping reminds me of the show Dead Like Me. I haven’t seen the show in a while, but I do remember it being about grim reapers. It was on HBO I believe.

What is this then?
