Commute Check

A few months back Ryan asked how you got to work. Now I’m asking how long it takes you to get to work.

I’m usually out of the house at 8:05, and walk to an 8:25 train that gets in to my work at 8:45. It’s funny, though, as I don’t think of the walk as part of my commute; if someone were to ask me how long my commute was I’d say, “Oh, about 20 minutes.” NOT TRUE!

But the train is a pretty stress-free commute, I say. It’s like the minutes don’t count there.

Walking: 30-40mins, depending on route (I take the scenic route when it is nice and foggy).

Biking: 19mins, 12 of which is biking and 7 dealing with locking the bike up on both ends.

Driving: 20mins, 10 driving, 5 parking, and 5 walking from the cheapest parking garage I could find ($7/day).

Getting a ride: 10mins, aside from a random length wait.

A little less than 30 minutes. I’ve got both highway and city driving, but neither of them terribly bad. I’ll leave the house at 7:00am and, depending on any issues, school buses and garbage trucks being two, pull into our parking lot on/about 7:30am.

Ciao,

What is this then?
