There was a time – a brief moment in time – when I thought Tina Fey might work on some good movies. That time is soundly in the past thanks to Baby Mama.
It’s a little bit funny, this feeling inside. I kind of expected sharper, funnier ideas from Fey thanks to her work on 30 Rock. I admit that it’s entirely possible that Baby Mama is an insightful commentary on pregnancy and surrogacy in our modern society… but then again, Hot Rod wasn’t an insightful commentary on the world of stuntpeople. Ah well.
