Here’s something peculiar about me: I like bread for the most part, but I generally don’t like toast. Toast as a side with breakfast is a no-go for me. Something about the crunchiness of the bread and the melting butter just doesn’t work for me. Not alone, anyway.
However I do like toast in some situations like hot sandwiches. Then there’s enough flavor to offset the pure toasty toastness that I don’t mind it and even enjoy it.
I’ll stick to bread and butter. Or bread and jam.

Really? I have so many recipes and family traditions involving toast, I could easily weird you out.
