Proof The Chicago Tribune Fails at The Internet

Someday I’ll stop complaining about newspaper sites… someday.

The Chicago Tribune recently added a wee “BREAKING NEWS” ticker on its homepage. Last night I stopped by and saw a story I wanted to read, so naturally I clicked the link.

That took me to the BREAKING NEWS blog, which has a comically-large header image (and companion RSS icon) where I was presented with the article.

However, the article was a one-liner with a link. “FULL STORY.” Guess where it led? That’s right! The Tribune’s website.

So let’s recap. I’m on the Tribune’s site. I click a link and am taken to something that looks like an out-of-the-box TypePad template blog site. I then click a link and am back on the Tribune’s site.

Nice job, guys and gals. Classy.
