A salute to bus drivers

There are a lot of people that I admire: teachers, single parents, pimps, people who still use the word “moxie”… but I think the people I admire more than any other have to be city bus drivers. They have what must be one of the most stressful jobs on earth for presumably pretty low pay (maybe I’m wrong), yet they are, in my experience, some of the most relaxed (repressed?) people I’ve witnessed when doing their job. I mean, come on — their job is essentially equivalent to asking an elephant to navigate a 7-11 without knocking over the Slim Jims, yet rarely do you see a report of a bus hitting anyone or anything in the middle of Times Square.

So, hats off to you, bus drivers with amazing dexterity and a positive attitude! You’re great!

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
