Pancakes v. Waffles

Here at the Ping, we like to talk about breakfast. But there’s one important issue we’ve been avoiding for nearly ten years, and that’s the legendary battle between pancakes and waffles.

I’m voting with my heart, and I’m voting for pancakes – and not solely because Ryan seems to like them too. I consider pancakes to be a lot more versatile. You want chocolate chips in your breakfast? Pancakes. Blueberries? Throw them in. Other berries? Bananas? Fruit? Go for it.

Waffles? They’re good and all but, really, they come in one style: grid. And that’s boring. In fact, just thinking about waffles made me fall asleep just now. You didn’t see it, but I started writing this Ping on July 4th.

I vote for pancakes too, but I do like Chicken n Waffles, PA Dutch style.

Indeed, chicken & waffles is a great dish. But it’s weak that waffles need chicken to be great. Weak, I say!

I will cast my vote for waffles. However, I only make them a couple times a year because they take so long! I need 3-4 wafflemakers to be efficient at it.

…and they need gravy. It is nice though that they have crevices to hold lots of butter if you eat them traditional style.

What is this then?
