Welcome to the dry stretch!

Last Monday was President’s Day, a holiday – that is, one complete with a day off – for many people. (And if you’re lucky enough to live in Illinois, and have an employer that really cares, you got the preceeding Monday off for Lincoln’s Birthday.)

Did you have a good weekend? Nice long three-day weekend? Well, if you’re in the US, I hope you really enjoyed it because you won’t have another one till May. Not even the start of May, oh no. We’re talking Memorial Day folks, and that’s still three months away. Right about now, I’m cursing out someone for predicting six more weeks of winter. -pm

President's Day is such a non-holiday. I protested it by going to work. Too bad I couldn't get my mail, though.

Do they still have Casimir Pulaski day in Illinois? That was the non-holiday to end non-holidays. I can't believe they actually let school out for that.

Terry--That really sounds like a non-protest. You only hurt yourself. I'll agree with you on the mail thing. I need mail to live.

So it's three months til the next holiday? What kind of a hell is this?

Pulaski Day is still a holiday in IL, although it's basically celebrated by schools and some government offices only.

Paul--Do you think that Great Guiness Toast crap was supposed to combat this "dry stretch"?
