Dude, Where’s My Plot?

I’m very pleased that today has finally, finally arrived: today, the epic movie Dude, Where’s My Car? is released on DVD and VHS.

The entire plot (should you want to call it that) is ridiculously bad. Did it get slammed by the critics? You bet it did. I attempted to find a review by Roger Ebert, who is known for damning reviews, but failed. Speaking of which, pair up this gem with Battlefield Earth and you’ve got a night of really crappy movies.

Don’t miss your chance to own the epic Dude, Where’s My Car? – movies like this only come around once every month or so! -pm

This movie wasn't *that* bad. Although my fondest memory of it is when one of the ceiling tiles in the theatre I was sitting in detached itself and fell in the seats.

A short followup: Dude, Where's My Car? is easily the worst movie in mainstream American movie history. By far. There is no equal. It is worse than Baby Geniuses, Stargate, Mad Love, Ishtar, Empire Records, and perhaps - perhaps! - Battlefield Earth. It is the most wretched, disgustingly horrendous creation ever unleashed by 20th Century Fox. It doesn't even elevate bad movies to a new artform; it actually makes the unspeakably low bar even lower.

Moreover, Dude, Where's My Car? is proof that if MST3K were to have continued on, they would have more than enough fodder to chew on for years to come.

On a scale of 1 to 10, this earns a -100. And I'm not exaggerating. It hurt to watch this movie.

But, Paul, I heard you were leading the campaign for a special 2-DVD edition of Dude...

That's actually true, Ryan. The second DVD contains video instructions on how to destroy disc one and perform a self-frontal lobotomy.

Paul--Why the hell did you even bother to see it?

Robert, when something is deemed to be deplorably awful... you can't help but try to understand why.

hm. I thought it was funny. But I've always thought stupid movies were funny. Although I don't think I laughed at the intended humor, I think I laughed more at the intended "plot"

dude where's my car was the best movie ever! IT was the movie that me and my friend watched right before she died and it was the last time she laughed. So fuck all of you that think this movie was bad. We need more movies that just make you laugh, who cares if it doesn't have a plot!

Too bad your friend didn't have the good fortune to die before having to watch this. You sure it wasn't the move that killed her?
