Did The Butter Say Something?

You’re walking through the grocery store, minding your own business (and your Cheerios). You walk by the dairy case, and you swear you hear someone say, “Butter”. You look around, but there’s no one within earshot. You shrug it off and continue walking, but hear the word again. “Butter!”

And then you realize, “Oh, silly me – it’s the Parkay container talking to me!”

Yes, friends, it’s finally happening. Instead of using loud-looking containers for products, companies are starting to use… loud containers.

I don’t think I want Pepto-Bismol to try this. [Courtesy of Boing Boing]

There will be a lot of clean-ups in the butter aisles across this great land.

another american FAD...when I walk through the isle at Wal-Mart next time I'll be looking for this...and in the same voice I'll be going "paarrrrkkkkaaaaayyyy" trying to freak out customers...I know this won't last's a dumb idea!

I understand the idea of stretched vowels contained in the lengthened spelling of "parkay." But I imagine the stretched consonant k sound might sound a bit like a flemmy hack, sort of like the jewish "ch" sound in chutzpah. Perhaps for a more successful attempt to create a fad, you may want to just try to say
"paarrrrkaaaaayyyy." Hope this is helpful.

All the best.

What is this then?
