The Superior C+C Song

Just from an historical perspective, which was the superior C+C Music Factory song? “Gonna Make You Sweat”, “Things That Make You Go Hmmm…”, or “Here We Go, Let’s Rock and Roll”?

I know it’s a tough choice. One look at the C+C biography on Rolling Stone‘s site proves it.

One drunken New Years Eve many moons ago, "Things that make you go hmmm.." somehow got on repeat play on the CD player and stayed that way for a long time. I've been having nightmares ever since.

Gonna Make You Sweat.

Admit it, when it first you first heard it, you listened because the beats were so edgy and cool. "Things That Make You Go Hmmm..." was a good novelty song, and "Here We Go..." was good, but seemingly rode on the coattails of "Gonna Make You Sweat".

I also nominate the song "Do You Wanna Get Funky?" off the follow up album "Anything Goes!". Didn't get the hype it should have, due to the death of David Cole shortly after it's release in 1994, but "Do You Wanna Get Funky" was not only the best song off "Anything Goes", but showed where the group was going.

Once David Cole was gone, though, Robert Civilies wasn't really able to carry the group, but C+C still had a great impact on the musical stylings of a decade.

Word.

"Do You Wanna Get Funky" was a damn good song. Dave definately knows what he's talking about when it comes to C&C.

For me personally-I always liked "Let's Rock and Roll" the best out of their first albums hits.

I'm really more of a fan of Freedom's solo rap career.

Funny how you can never think about something like C+C Music Factory for years, and with one Ping...

"Anything Goes" has been on repeat for most of the evening, and I just stumbled across a pic and bio of Freedom. While it's interesting to see that he now dabbles in acting and prducing, I think the profile overstates things by saying that Freedom"has become a cornerstone in the evolution of American Pop Music"...PLEASE.

I'll have to go with Gonna Make You Sweat. I prefer it to Here We Go, Let's Rock and Roll, which uses almost the exact same music. I always thought that Things That Make You Go Hmmmm.... was a Young MC song that didn't make the cut -- I mean, just listen to the words.

I also always like the untitled track 11 on the CD.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that my C+C CD has ADD proudly displayed on the back cover of the liner notes.
