What kind of three-day weekend?

I think workweeks should be shortened to four days and every weekend should be three days long. But since that’s never going to happen, I have to live with the occasional three-day weekend. I’ve always preferred having a Monday off because when the weekend rolls around, you’re excited to have three days off, but when those three days are up, you’re greeted with a shortened work week. Other people prefer having the Friday off, having the three-day weekend cap off a four-day work week rather than lead into it.

Who’s in the Friday camp and who’s in the Monday camp amongst Pingers?

Actually, there are a lot of companies that work 4 day weeks. Intel does 4 day weeks for a lot of employees. granted they are 10 hour days, but it still a nice option.

I'd rather have Fridays off. Traffic is always the worst on Fridays.

Ryan, why are you passing over Wednesday? That's the day I would want off so I can spend all day preparing my Prince spaghetti.

Mondays. Definitely.

I used to work for a place where every single one of us had chronic "60 Minutes Disease".

That's a condition where you get a nauseous feeling that hits right about the time 60 MINUTES comes on Sunday night. It's caused by the knowledge you have to go back to that Hell-hole tomorrow.

Definitely down with the Friday idea. For awhile, I did a job where I worked four 10-hour days, and while it was tough, the partying always started on Thursday night. Doesn't mean I'd be any less groggy Monday morning than I am now, just means an extra day to get the party started, and any excuse to get off the roads on a Friday is a good one to me.

This is a difficult one. But I think I'll side with Fridays. Mondays are always going to be Mondays, and I'd rather keep that attitude on Monday rather than push it to Tuesday.

Tuesday's on the phone to me, oh yeah.

Mondays for me. In fact, I was looking to take off this Monday.

I can do Fridays with no trouble because I know freedom is near.

I prefer to have Monday off, so if I do go anywhere, the crowds will be smaller. Friday traffic is wretched! Being off Monday just makes the week fly by.

Monday off is wonderful. I like driving the Friday traffic. Picking up all you dud's that break down! yea! more money for me on Friday. Monday is a slow day and I'd rather spend it at the mall.

How about we get off Friday afternoon and Monday morning?

I'd be down with that idea, Kate...the best of both worlds, really.. :)

If it's a one-off 'long weekend' then I quite like taking the Monday off as Friday is always a little more chilled at work anyway.

If we are talking 4 day weeks as the norm then I would vote for Friday, as Thursday would then turn into the new Friday anyway...

With judicious use of annual leave and public holidays I've got 4 four-day-weeks in a row now anyway!

What is this then?
