Stopping Spam Dead

Russian Spammer Murdered

“[I]nfamous Russian spammer Vardan Kushnir was found dead in his apartment on Sunday, having been apparently beaten to death.”

“Perhaps Kushnir was a victim of vigilantism. Or maybe he angered the Russian mafia.”

To remain appropriate, snarky remarks are withheld. (And don’t tell me you haven’t wished a spammer dead yourself at one time or another.)

The spam industry now has a martyr. Years from now, he'll be seen as an unpopular figure, a pioneer who believed so much in what he was doing, despite massive backlash, that he was willing to die for his cause. He'll be seen as a true marketing visionary.

. . . unless of course he simply got whacked for not paying on a gambling debt.

Either way, I doubt his untimely passing will affect the enormous quantity of spam in my inbox at all, even with all the filtering.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
