Bed Books

Do you read books before bed? Do you wish you could read more easily in a comfortable position that doesn’t require awkward pillow propping? Well thanks to the ingenious folks at Bed Book, you can! Life is grand!

Bed Books are essentially books printed sideways which are easier to read while laying on your side. Sure, maybe it’s not the invention of the century, but it’s bound to help anyone who wants to read Dracula but has failed trying to read it in uncomfortable positions.

Unfortunately, we will not be making the eternally forthcoming Book of Ping available as a Bed Book. We were envisioning a lot more bathroom reading than bedroom reading, anyway…

So, what? Do I need two copies of every book I'm reading now for the parts I'm reading before bed and the parts I'm reading, say, on the bus or at the beach?

Feh. Wusses!

You could just rip the spine out of your book and lay the pages out individually. You only have to buy one book that way.

Or you could just prop the book between pillows and wedge it open with a heavy cuboctahedron. Or, err, a rock, if cuboctahedrons are not available. (I happen to have a heavy paperweight one, and the various angles are just right, if you do not mind shifting it up and down while reading a page)

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
