The Best Thing About the Time Change

I’m certainly not a fan of the time changes, no matter how much they’re supposed to improve our lives. And given Daylight Savings Time starts earlier next year – part of an incredibly important and worthy bill signed by Bush, who clearly has time to devote to such pressing matters – you know I’ll be lovin’ it even more.

But my favorite thing about the time change from Daylight to Standard isn’t that it’s pitch black at 5pm; it’s that when I wake up, the sun is already up. No more of this walking to the train in the dark stuff… at least for a while.

I generally handle the switch from Daylight to Standard better than the reverse one. Either way, I just wish we’d stop changing our clocks already.

I’d rather have the light after work.

Yeah, I’m with COD. I had to madly race home on my bike today because I didn’t realize it was going to be dark _quite_ so early.

True, it’s nice to have the sun up when you wake up. But it’s nicer to have some sunlight at the end of the day when you can actually use it.

Let’s just all set our clocks for lunchtime and leave them there!

Ciao,

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
