Hold That Smile

After smiling and saying hello to a passing a co-worker in the hallway, I’ve found myself holding my smile well beyond when they’ve passed me. If someone else were to appear, they’d see me smiling goofily at no one. But it feels weird to automatically drop a smile as soon as I’ve passed the person I’m saying hello to, perhaps because that would make it feel forced and fake.

Next time you smile and say hello to someone, take note of how long you keep smiling and report back here.

Thank you.

Just pretend you're smiling at the next person and say hi to them, too. What's so hard about that? This sounds like a Seinfeld episode.

Maybe since smiling makes u happy, u naturally just keep it there longer, it might not be a bad thing.

Thank God I work in radio. No one knows if I'm smiling or frowning...naked or clothed....or whatever.

Enjoy your dinner! :)

Ahhh but Dave... you forget about the Ping's hidden cameras? Shame on you. Y'know much like Big Brother... you're not safe even when you think you are. ;)

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
