The Daily Ping

This Ping redesign took 7 years and cost $58 million in taxpayer dollars.

Today started with a surprise. I woke up, looked at my alarm clock, and noticed it was 5:35.

That’s all well and good, but I needed to wake up at 5 in order to catch an early morning flight. Opps! I don’t oversleep very often, but today was one of those days – and that’s why I always give myself time in the mornings. Just in case, you know? In this case it was user error; I had inadvertently turned the clock radio’s volume all the way down. So the alarm had gone off, but with no volume. (And really, what kind of silly design is that?)

I’m pretty sure the last time I overslept to a fault was back in college – I ended up missing the first few minutes of a class because of it, too. But today’s wasn’t a big deal.

How’s your oversleeping record doing?
