Organizers

Datebook, PDA, Outlook, or memory… how do you organize your life and keep track of appointments?

Me, I’m strictly a datebook type of guy. I could never be trusted with a PDA and I only use Outlook for work-related appointments and meetings. And a lot of times I rely on my memory, which usually works pretty well but has been known to fail on occasion. If they could make a PDA that cost as much as a datebook, I might spring for one… otherwise, it’s pencil and paper for me for the forseeable future. -ram

Scraps of paper and my memory, really. PDA prices are coming down greatly but the only thing that held me back was the fact that PDAs are so freakin' small.

I got a PDA as my free gift for opening a CD account with a large banking institution last year. After taking 6 months to get it, I realized that a PDA is a really neat thing to have. You can mark important dates in it and have it beep at you when those date approach. You can download simple games like Asteroids, slot machines, and other games that made Atari popular. However, after using it for a while, using all the menus and the primitive writing feature, I find it easier, and much quicker to use the memory and post-it notes.

I have a PocketPC and kept (notice past tense) all my contact info on it. Last week I turned it on and ALL my data, programs included, were gone. I was back to square one. And I thought solid state memory was supposed to hold its contents.

I'm going back to pen and paper.

I write things on my hand and try not to sweat.

I'm easily bored with organizational schemes, so I have to switch back and forth. Right now it's an iPaq and the base of my left thumb. I swear I'm gonna get cancer on that one spot on my hand. I also have an Access database and a written organizer that I'm not using at the moment. Oh, and I can't forget the file folder scheme and the white board...

I'm pathetic--I actually have to read a book or watch a tape or take a class every few months to "encourage" myself to stay organized. Now I can't even organize my organizational tools.

I have an organsiers with cute little dogs on it. I have it because it has a nice layoud for one week spreds and it fits in my purse and holds phone number. It is my life i loose it. I won't know my friends phone numbers of the shifts I am working, It also comes theses tear away memo sheets with cute things on them, for leaving notes in your friends mailboxes at work. Okay I am geek. A least i am not obsessed with highlighters like my friend Jen
