Web Gripes

Ryan and I both use and work with the web every day, and every day we get annoyed by it in some fashion. What are your gripes about the web?

I think my biggest right now is the fact that sites can (and do) resize and move windows. Holy crap – I had no idea it was so bad. After using Firefox as my main browser for a long time, I’m in Safari-land now (I have my reasons). But if I can’t find a way to disable moving and resizing windows, as Firefox allows, it’s a good-bye. Within the past ten minutes of browsing I’ve had three above-board sites resize on me.

To me, that’s one of the things a site should never do. That, and play a little tune.

There’s a Safari plugin called PithHelmet that does a lot to patch it up. Thing is, though, out of the box it disables so much that the browser is almost unusable.

I’m on Safari (heh) too. It’s not winning me over. Then again, Opera for the Mac is pathetic compared to Opera for Windows…

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
