When Metadata Attacks

Ryan MacMichael is on the campaign trail with Dennis Kucinich, and will return shortly.

I must admit that there’s a certain amount of glee I feel when underlying metadata – especially from Microsoft Word – comes back to bite someone on the butt. It happened a few weeks ago when it was revealed, through versioning, that Microsoft was bankrolling the SCO lawsuit efforts. This time, the MPAA and California Attorney General are in correctors’ heaven, with a Word doc revealing that an anti-P2P law put forth by the latter was scrutinized and/or drafted by a senior VP at the MPAA.

Whoops!

And yet another blow for the default installation of the most popular word processor on earth….
